Coordinate efforts between outsourced designers, sales representatives and others to provide design proofs to the client and finished ads for production.

Use InDesign/InData and Quark/xTags to combine artwork and information pulled from a FileMaker database to build a 400+ page publication.

Used Coldfusion with SQL to create the data-driven website.

Print Production Coordinator

G.T. Editores S.A., Santiago, Chile (1997-2009)

Lead a team of designers and data entry personnel; managed the production of printed telephone books, yellow page directories, and websites.

Installed, configured, and managed dozens of workstations (Windows 98 and Windows 2000, Macintosh stations, file servers (Windows NT and 2000 Server), web servers (IIS, ColdFusion), email servers, and firewall.

Converted information stored in PageMaker publications to a RDBMS.

Introduced QuarkXpress and Tags to reduce the amount of manual labor required to produce our products - full color yellow page directories.

Developed custom software to automate production, provide live statistics and reports to upper management, reduce the amount of human error in the data entry department, automate the production of complex, database driven web sites and printed publications.

Using ColdFusion MX7, SQL Server 2005, and JavaScript to create a yellow page directory website, complete with ads which are batch converted to jpg from pdf and uploaded/linked from a separate employee only website.

Specialized in Highly Visible web sites - most of the web sites produced appeared in the first two pages of major search engines.

Specialized in database driven web sites (dynamic web sites) using Allaire (now Adobe, after Macromedia) ColdFusion.

Wrote several software packages, mainly using Clipper or dBase. Most were specifically written for a particular business, including RV Resort Parks, Travel Agencies, and others to work with other software, including EDI transfers to accounting and shipping software and data transfers from computer time clocks to accounting software.

Installed and maintained networks using Novell Netware versions 2.x and 3.1x. Linked home computers with office computers.

Scanner Operator

Produced high quality publications using QuarkXpress, Photoshop, and artwork from the graphic designers in our department.

Operated and calibrated Optronics ColorGetter drum scanner and ColorSetter drum imagesetter

Production Manager / Technical Advisor

By providing high quality four-color separation to printers, we helped to bolster the acceptance of electronic separations in a time when traditional methods were still preferred.

Managed the production of 4-color separations, desktop publishing, imagesetting to various imagesetting devices, and data conversion between Macintosh and IBM compatible computers.

Operated, calibrated, and maintained scanners and imagesetters.

Provided advice regarding the purchases of equipment and software.
